1) Understand that physical disability doesn’t always mean functional disability - Environmental adaptations can go a long way in helping the physically disabled live functionally independent and purposeful lives 2) Focus on Function - Far too often, we focus far too long, on what is wrong. Take an inventory of what the insured can do. Appropriate modifications should be based on what the insured can do, not on what he can’t. 3) Elevate the Attitude - Believe in the resiliency of the human spirit. Sympathize with their present state. Gently lead them to initiate. And praise them when they elevate.4) Hope - Holding On to Positive Expectations. Encouraging an insured to hold on to positive expectations (“HOPE”) might be the difference in out comes. Let me know how you’re doing!Corey Staver
